About Us
The Leslie Edwards Trust (LET) is dedicated to promoting social inclusion for individuals with hearing impairments and their families in the East Midlands. We provide vital resources, classes, and community support to empower those navigating the challenges of hearing loss. We are seeking a dedicated Treasurer to join our team and help us achieve our mission.
 
Role Overview
As the Treasurer, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the Trust. You will oversee our financial operations, ensuring transparency and accountability, while providing strategic guidance to support our charitable objectives.
As one of three Trustees, you will work alongside the Chair and Secretary to manage and direct the charity and ensure that it is run in the best interests of the public in accordance with our Constitution and the law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial reports for the management committee 3 times a year
  • Oversee the preparation of the annual budget and monitor financial performance against it.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and charity law.
  • Manage bank accounts and financial transactions, including income and expenditure.
  • Check and pay invoices.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts and grant applications as needed.
  • Collaborate with other board members to develop strategic financial plans.
 
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Experienced: Previous experience in a financial role.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Organised: Good organisational skills.
  • Communicative: Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
  • Passionate: A commitment to supporting individuals with hearing loss and promoting social inclusion.
